FSCJ Baseball pulls out a win against USC Sumter in low-scoring game

 

The BlueWave returned home to host USC Sumter for nine innings this past Friday. 

USC Sumter got things moving in the first inning, when an error allowed them to post the first run. In innings two and three both pitchers demonstrated their strength allowing no runs to score. The BlueWave pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning when an errors allowed FSCJ score. The remainder of the innings both teams were held scoreless as the BlueWave walked away with a 3-2 victory. 

FSCJBlueWave pitchers allowed just six hits to USCSumter. Jordan Briones was credited with the victory for BlueWave. He allowed four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out three. Oscar Contreras and Matthew McManus entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Contreras recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for the BlueWave. Chris Hall led the BlueWave with one hit in three at bats.
