BlueWave fall to Daytona State in final at bat

The Florida State College at Jacksonville fell to Daytona State College 6-5 on Friday on the final play of the game.

In the first inning Logan Nugent doubled scoring one run to start the FSCJ offense. The BlueWave tallied three runs to start things off. Daytona did not answer back until the bottom of the third crossing two across the plate to challenge the BlueWave. Daytona State would go on to score another three runs in the bottom of the fourth. The game would go quiet for five innings before FSCJ was up to bat in the top of the ninth and tied things up at 5-5. With the Falcons of Daytona State batting in the bottom of the ninth, an FSCJ an error would score the winning run for Daytona.

Tyler Naumann led things off on the pitcher's mound for the BlueWave for three and two-thirds innings before Collin Weghorst, Quinton Brehm and Athanasi Obeius would each contribute in relief for FSCJ. BlueWave collected eight hits on the day from Logan Nugent, Phillip Woullard and Alex Luscombe each racked up multiple hits for FSCJ. Nugent led FSCJ BlueWave Baseball with three hits in four at bats.
