South Georgia State College defeats BlueWave baseball

BlueWave baseball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-2 loss to South Georgia State College (SGSC) on Monday.

SGSC scored on a single by Rice and an error in the first inning. FSCJ struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing SGSC, giving up ten runs.

South Georgia State College fired up the offense in the first inning when Rice singled on a 1-1 count scoring two runs, then scored three runs in the eighth inning. South Georgia's big inning was driven by a triple by Rice, a single by Jordan, and by Meadows.

Drew Herring was on the hill for FSCJ, he surrendered four runs on seven hits over three innings striking out two and walking one. Jose "Gabriel" Sevillano, Athanasi Obeius, Collin Weghorst, and Liam Dillinger each entered the game as relief, throwing three and two-thirds innings, two-thirds of an inning, one-third of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Kevin Long led FSCJ BlueWave baseball with two hits in three at bats.
