BlueWave baseball takes game one versus St. Thomas JV in high scoring ballgame

 

The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where FSCJ BlueWave Baseball came out on top against Thomas University JV, 20-6.

FSCJ BlueWave Baseball secured the victory thanks to 13 runs in the fourth inning. The BlueWave's offense in the inning came from walks by Kevin Long, Alex Vazquez, Sebastian Dunn, and Shane McCormack, singles by Austin Morton, Chad Ragland, Morton, and Alex Luscombe, by McCormack, by AJ Orrico, and a double by Logan Nugent.

FSCJ took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning when Dunn homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

FSCJ BlueWave's tallied 13 runs in the fourth inning driven by walks by Long, Vazquez, Dunn, and McCormack, singles by Morton, Ragland, Morton, and Luscombe, by McCormack, by Orrico, and a double by Nugent.

Brandon Cruz led things off on the pitcher's mound for the BlueWave. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits. 

Langston was on the hill for Thomas University JV. He allowed six hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out two. Mitchell, #17, and #26 each contributed in relief for Thomas University JV.

FSCJ launched one home run on the day with Dunn's homer in the third inning. The BlueWave collected 12 hits. Ragland, Trey Spratling-Williams, and Morton each racked up multiple hits for FSCJ BlueWave Baseball. Ragland went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead FSCJ BlueWave Baseball in hits.

Lemen led Thomas University JV with two hits in three at bats.
