BlueWave Volleyball goes 1-1 on the road in conference action

BlueWave volleyball splits a pair of conference matches over the weekend.

After taking a one game lead over conference rival Santa Fe Saints at home two weeks earlier, the team headed to Gainesville, Florida to face the Saints on their home court. The match went down to the wire as the BlueWave took the early lead winning the first set 25-16. The Saints then came back to win the next set 25-19. FSCJ came out swinging in the third to gain the lead 25-17. But the Saints would not be out done on their home court. They put on a huge display of defense to take the fourth set to pull even in the match. In the fifth and deciding set, it came down to a battle of will. With the score tied at 13 all, the Saints mounted a huge blocking effort to shut down the BlueWave attack. The win evened out the season's head to head match-up at a game a piece.

Day two proved to be successful for the BlueWave as they picked up a 3-0 victory over conference foe Pensacola State College Pirates.  The BlueWave will host Florida Gateway College in a non-conference competition this Tuesday before heading into the final round of conference play this Friday in Pensacola,
