FSCJ knocks off Eastern Florida in first game of conference action

The Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball program started conference play on the road to Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, FL.

Playing on Eastern Florida's homecourt is a difficult place to compete, especially for the opening game of conference. FSCJ would find themselves in the middle of a heart racing game against the Titans of Eastern Florida State College (EFSC). The first half woudl find the BlueWave down on 2 points to the host team, EFSC.

The second half would be no different in play, as the two teams battled bucket for bucket. The game came down to the final seconds when FSCJ would hold possession of the ball out of bounds. A last second play would find the ball in Johnny Brown's hands for a tip in that would win the game at the buzzer 60-59.

Chris Clark led the BlueWave in scoring with 14 points, connecting with three made baskets from behind the arc. Jaderryus Eatmon and Johnny Brown both had 12 points. Evan Busby led the BlueWave in rebounds with 8, and Brown added an additionall 7 boards.

FSCJ will play host to the College of Central Florida next Saturday January 11th as they play the second game of a double header with the women. Games times are 2:00 for the women and 4:00 for the men.
