FSCJ headed to Nationals after capturing NJCAA D2 Gulf South District Championship win

The Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball team continues to make history.

Saturday afternoon FSCJ would picked up a 72-69 win over Alabama Region 22 winner Snead State Community College. This win marks yet again a new first for the FSCJ men's basketball program in school history. 

In the inaugural season of the move to NJCAA Dll the FSCJ basketball program (25-8) has captured the FCSAA Sun-Lakes Conference Championship, FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Championship and now the NJCAA Dll Gulf South District Championship.

First year men's basketball Coach John Putryski with sophomore teammates Tarence Guinyard and Roderick Gardner were all featured on First Coast News to discuss the season and the NJCAA Dll Gulf South District Championship. If you would like to hear more follow the provided link below:

With the Gulf South District win FSCJ has punched their ticket to the NJCAA Dll National Championship in Danville, Illinois. Danville Area Community College will host the 20-team championship at the Mary Miller Center from March 18-23, 2024.
