Sabrina Hartsell will be entering her first year as the Florida State College at Jacksonville head softball coach. Hartsell, a former FSCJ softball player and alumni, has been appointed by Athletic Director Jerry Thor to take the lead this upcoming 2023-2024 season.

Sabrina Hartsell comes to Florida State College at Jacksonville after spending several years coaching in the Florida Systems Activities Association (FSCAA) and Region 8. Her previous collegiate coaching career includes stops at St. John’s River State College from 2018- 2021 and Daytona State College from 2015-2018 where she served as the teams pitching coach in both programs.

Hartsell’s coaching career started at Bolles High School, where she served as the assistant coach and head coach from 1999 - 2002.  Hartsell stepped away from coaching to focus on her career, working at Baptist Medical Center in the Wolfson’s Children Emergency Room. During that time, she began giving private pitching lessons and then in December 2010 returned to coaching at Creekside High School. Her five-year tenure at Creekside resulted in a record of 125-17, four straight playoff appearances, four district titles, two regional titles and two state playoff appearances finishing as the Runner-up once.

In the off season, Hartsell also worked with local travel ball programs helping to develop young pitchers; 16U Florida Select Softball Program, Pro Impact Travel Softball Program and even starting the Florida Force Travel Softball program.

Hartsell is a graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville and a former member of the softball program. She pitched for two years and received accolades for “Pitcher of the Week” several times during her playing career. Hartsell attended Orange Park High School in Jacksonville, FL where she was a two-sport athlete competing in softball and weightlifting. As a member of the softball team she was named MVP, Pitcher of the Year, selected to the All-State Team and set several school records.

She is married to her Husband, Mike Hartsell and they have two sons, Hunter and Nolan.
