FSCJ sweeps Trinity Baptist in a doubleheader

Florida State College at Jacksonville softball took on cross-town foe Trinity Baptist College at home. The doubleheader home stay resulted in two wins for the BlueWave. 

 

FSCJ 16, Trinity Baptist 2 

FSCJ wins game one on Tuesday (4/16) at home. The BlueWave shut down Trinity Baptist in the circle with Ashlee Thomas and Abby Rutledge both pitching to keep hitters off balance. With a strong defense behind them,  Trinity Baptist only scored a run in the 3rd and 5th inning to try to start a rally but was shut down. FSCJ's bats were on fire with Masey Padgett hitting a three-run homerun in the 1st inning to get the bats going. A total of five runs were scored in the 1st inning and eight runs in the 3rd inning.  

 

FSCJ 6, Trinity Baptist 0

The BlueWave in game two again shutdown Trinity Baptist down at the plate with Anastasia Suhetskis and Abby Rutledge. FSCJ allowed only two hits in the game. Scoring two runs in the 2nd inning with Madi and Takierra drawing walks to bring FSCJ's Ciara Byrd to the plate to hit a double scoring Madi and Takierra. Madi Powell had a great game 2 at the plate hitting two homeruns back-to-back to help bring the score to six runs.
