
Former FSCJ Women's Basketball Players turn their tassles
We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to former alumni athletes Mataea Boyd, Bryana Henderson, and Jayde Johnson on their recent graduation. Their academic and athletic accomplishments stand as a testament to their dedication, resilience, and passion as they received their Bachelor's Degrees. The trio were a part of the FSCJ women's baskebtall program from 2019-2021.
Mataea Boyd, a standout on the court and in the classroom, graduated from Point University in West Point, Georgia, earning a degree in Biology. Mataea's commitment to her academics and basketball has been exemplary. At Point University, she continued to shine as an athlete, balancing the rigorous demands of her Biology program with the challenges of collegiate athletics. Her ability to excel in both arenas is a source of immense pride for our community. During her time at Point University she was named Newcomer of the Year, aided her team to a conference championship and scored over a 1,000 points in her two year stint.
Bryana Henderson has also achieved remarkable success, graduating from Wheeling University in Wheeling, West Virginia, with a degree in Nursing. Bryana's journey through nursing school was undoubtedly demanding, yet she continued to pursue her athletic passions with determination. Bryana's dedication to caring for others while maintaining her athletic career speaks volumes about her character and work ethic.
Jayde Johnson has likewise made us proud by graduating from St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida. Jayde's time at St. Thomas University was marked by her athletic performance and steadfast commitment to her studies. Her achievement in earning a Bachelor's Degree reflects her incredible time management skills and unyielding dedication.
These three remarkable individuals have not only completed their degrees but have also demonstrated the profound connection between academics and athletics. Mataea, Bryanna, and Jayde have shown that it is possible to pursue one's passion for sports while attaining academic excellence, setting a high standard for our community. Their journeys serve as a beacon of inspiration, encouraging current and future students to strive for greatness in all their endeavors.
