FSCJ Women’s Basketball promotes Jessica Eaton to Assistant Coach

After serving the past two seasons as a volunteer with the Florida State College at Jacksonville women's basketball program, Jessica Eaton was officially hired on staff this fall.

Eaton has been a part of the FSCJ women's basketball team since 2021. She has assisted head coach Diana Couch with recruiting, player development and many of the day-to-day operations.

Eaton stepped away from coaching for a few years to focus on her family and raise her children, but her basketball background runs deep in the Central Florida area. She last served as an assistant coach at Oviedo High School in 2015, junior varsity coach and varsity assistant coach at Hagerty High School from 2009-12 and started her career at Lyman High School in 2008. Eaton was also involved in the AAU circuit having coached with the D.E.B.O. program from 2008-10 and worked for Winning Ways as the summer camp director from 2011-13.

"Coach Eaton has definitely proven herself to be an asset to our program," said third year head coach Diana Couch. "She is committed to the direction, vision and culture we are working to create within our team, department, college and community. Moving her into this new role will not only help our team, but also assist her in the growth of her coaching career as she takes on additional tasks."

Eaton, a recent honor graduate with an Associate of Arts degree from FSCJ, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Florida.
