Women's Basketball makes weekly poll for first time since 2017

The Florida State College at Jacksonville women's basketball program was recognized for their efforts by making the FCSAA weekly coaches poll for the first time since 2017.

Under second year Head Coach Diana Couch the BlueWave women's program has notched a couple significant milestone for the program. With a record of 5-12 on the season the BlueWave have already more than doubled their wins from last season and recorded more wins than the last 4 seasons. In conference play FSCJ is 1-1 with a historic win over Santa Fe that was last achieved in 2017. The team is one win away from tieing the 20-21 conference record of 2-12.

"This group is capable of so much more than they are achieving. As a staff we keep challenging them to rise", said Coach Couch. "Changing a culture that has become used to losing is a challenge, but we keep reminding them that we are the game changers and they possess the ability to rewrite history. Little milestones are big victories to us as we see the big picture, it reminds us as a program that we have things moving in the right direction."

The BlueWave broke into the weekly coaches poll capturing the 10th spot. Coaches from Region 8 submit their rankings based on teams weekly performance and overall record. To see the ranking  and more information on Region 8 women's basketball click here.
