FSCJ Women's Basketball 2022-2023 Schedule Released
With the start of the regular season less than a week away, the 2022-23 schedule finally is complete for the Florida State College at Jacksonville women's basketball team.
FSCJ will play six nonconference home games against East Georgia State College (Nov. 5), Beacon College (Nov. 8), Johnson University (Nov 10), Warner Univeristy JV (Nov. 14), DME Academy (Dec. 13) and a late season Palm Beach State College (Jan.16). The game against East Georgia State College are a part of the 1st Annual Battle on Beach Blvd FSCJ Tip-Off Classic. FSCJ will also play host to visiting Tallahassee Community College and conference rivals Santa Fe Community College and nationally ranked Eastern Florida State College.
The nonconference schedule also is highlighted by a series of tournament and road games. The BlueWave take to the road for the Palm Beach State Classic (Nov 18-19) in Lake Worth, FL where they will face Palm Beach State College and Indian River State College. FSCJ will then travel across town to play Trinity Baptist (Nov 29) before making the trip to Santa Fe College for the JUCO Shootout (Dec. 2-3) for match-ups against Hillsborough Community College and Tallahassee Community College.
The final leg of the nonconference schedule has FSCJ facing Tallahassee Community College once again in a back to back meeting this time on TCC's homecourt (Dec. 9). A week later FSCJ will travel across the I10 corridor to Marianna, FL for the Chipola Holiday Classic where they take on Region 8 rivals and nationally ranked Northwest Florida State College and host Chipola State College (Dec. 15-16). After Christmas break the women's team will have one last chance to tune-up before the start of conference play at the Santa Fe State College tournament facing Indian River State College and Northwest Florida State College both for a second time (Dec. 29-30).
January is the start of Region 8 Central Conference play and FSCJ opens up with a two game home stay with Santa Fe Community College (Jan.7) followed by St. Petersburg College (Jan. 11). FSCJ then takes to the road to face Daytona State College before finishing the first round of conference play at home with Eastern Florida State College (Jan. 21). Round two finds the BlueWave on the road to Santa Fe (Jan. 25) then to St. Pete (Jan. 28) before returning home to host Daytona State (Feb. 4) and finish out round two at Eastern Florida State in Melbourne (Feb. 8).
The final round of conference play is the toughest as teams battle for a strong finish to secure a Central Conference Championship title and an opportunity to seed at the Region 8 tournament. The BlueWave play host for the first two games of the final round with Santa Fe (Feb. 11) and then St. Pete (Feb.15) before closing out regular season on the road to Daytona State (Feb. 22) and Eastern Florida (Feb. 25).
Pending conference performance and finish, FSCJ women are hoping to make a return to the Region 8 tournament March 8th in Niceville, FL.
