Women's Basketball participates in 2022 First Coast Heart Walk

This year's 2022 First Coast Heart Walk took place downtown Saturday September 10th and the Florida State College at Jacksonville women's basketball team was in attendance.

The team walked in the 5K and participated in many of the events, while supporting and cheering on the survivors and other walkers. Several of the members of the women's basketball team have had their families affected by heart disease and it was a cause close to their hearts. "One of the best parts of this event was seeing all the different groups come together to support the same cause", said Danielle Caldwell, a sophomore guard for FSCJ women's basketball program.

The annual event is held to bring awareness to heart disease, raise funds and bring the community together for heart healthy activities. "Our First Coast Heart Walk has always been about coming together, getting hearts pumping, honoring survivors, raising lifesaving funds - and having fun along the way" according to the event website.
