Patriots take game one from the BlueWave

Florida State College at Jacksonville fell behind early in the first of two games against the College of Central Florida Patriots.

The Patriots took an early lead and the BlueWave struggled to recover in a 9-3 loss to the Central Florida Patriots on Saturday. Early in the first inning the Patriots scored two runs on a home run in the first inning and then scored off a single in the second inning. FSCJ got on the board in the bottom on the second scoring one run making it a 3-1 ball game. The third inning would find the Patriots crossing the plate four more times before the BlueWave's Payton Mahon would hit a long ball that would clear the fences adding the only runs that FSCJ would see for the remainder of the game. Struggling to contain Central Florida's high-powered offense the Patriots would notched two more runs to take a commanding 9-3 win.

Caitlyn Berry was on the mound for FSCJ. The BlueWave totaled nine hits in the game with Breanna Swanson, Amelia Olive, and Naomi Olacio each collecting multiple hits. Swanson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead FSCJ in hits.
