FSCJ softball shuts out Lake-Sumter College 8-0

Florida State College at Jacksonville BlueWave traveled to faced the Lakehawks of Lake-Sumter on Tuesday.

The BlueWave scored the opening runs of the game jump starting the offense off Naomi Olacio's double to help build a 2-0 lead. Unable to answer back, the Lakehawks remained scoreless and FSCJ added insult to injury racking up another five runs in the top of the third inning. The rally was led by RBI's from a walk by Payton Mahon, a single by Caitlyn Berry, a ground out by Tori Richardson and then Madison Macik's hit created an error on the ball. Now with a score of 7-0 Lake-Sumter struggled to place runners in scoring positions. FSCJ would add one more run the in the top of the sixth to secure the 8-0 conference win. 

BlueWave pitcher Caitlyn Berry threw a shutout to record the win, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out three. Berry also went 2-for-3 at the plate leading all hitters.
