BlueWave softball splits with South Georgia State College

A Thursday afternoon doubleheader with the BlueWave of FSCJ hosting South Georgia State College, proved to be action packed.

In game one of the day South Georgia State College notched a solo homerun to kick things off in the first inning. FSCJ then evened things up at three in the bottom of the second inning when Payton Mahon homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. The third inning would solidify the win and the last run scored for the BlueWave on another solo homerun, this time by Naomi Olacio

 

The BlueWave picked up the win 4-3 with Caitlyn Berry starting things off in the circle. Berry went seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one. Two balls left the field for the BlueWave behind the bats of Mahon and Olacio. Mahon went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead her team.

 

Game two on the day, sung a different song for the BlueWave as they struggled to keep up with South Georgia State College in the 10-1 loss.

SGSC scored three runs in the sixth inning on a three run homer. Hannah Dugan was on the mound for Florida State College at Jacksonville lasting six innings. Naomi Olacio led FSCJ with two hits in three at bats.
