UF Run Club Cross Country Invitational

Six personal records (PR) and five season's best creates big changes in the top 10 all-time list. 

Saturday morning the Florida State College at Jacksonville men and women's cross country teams traveled to Santa Fe College to compete at the University of Florida Run Club Cross Country Invitational.

The men's team was led for the second week by freshman Logan Moore. Logan raced his way to a PR performance of 17:06 pulling teammates Christian Mayfield and Ashton Curl to new PR's of 17:15 and 17:34. The men's team finished in 3rd place behind University of Central Florida and University of Florida.

On the women's side, sophomore team captain Lynn Winkler's finished in 8th place with a PR performance (21:09) leading the team to a 3rd place finish. She was just behind UCF and UF with Kayleigh McWatters just 35 seconds back to clock a new PR of 21:46. Both Lynn and Kayleigh moved up the Top 10 All-time list with Lynn moving up three places to 3rd and Kayleigh moving to 9th

"Some PR's, season best times and a couple of awesome kicks from Zahir Miller and Kaydan Bowie made for a good day." said head cross country coach Jody Hale.

 The next competition for the FSCJ cross country program is Friday morning October 13th at the Florida Gateway College XC Invitational at Alligator Lake in Lake City Florida.
