This was the 3rd year for the Daytona State Beach Relay and it was made even more exciting by an impending storm and a fast-rising high tide, both of which threatened an early ending to the race.

Representing NJCAA region 8 where teams from Lake Sumter State College, Seminole State College, FSCJ and Daytona State. The inclement weather caused the men's and women's races to be combined and no team scores were recorded.

Head Coach Jody Hale commented following the race, "Tonight we saw a very solid effort by both teams in less than ideal conditions. Thanks to Judy Wilson of Daytona State for hosting this race. It's a great way to start the season."

Next Friday night the FSCJ BlueWave XC teams travel to Freedom Park in Valdosta to compete in the Border Clash XC Invitational hosted by Valdosta State University.
