Women’s FSCJ Cross Country Blazes Through Valdosta State

Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) women's cross country started up their fifth season since their inception at Valdosta State University in Georgia. The team placed 12th place in the college division and defeated Region VIII Rival Lake Sumter State College in doing so.

Team captain Hannah Ziegler finished first among the BlueWave women, Freshman Hailey Smith ran her first race since 2019 and finished second, followed by Freshman Meghan Bonser, Sophomore Kayla Konnick, freshman Abigail Gray helped wrap up the women's team to a victory over Lake Sumter.

With the performance at Valdosta State, the women are now ranked 22nd in the nation, according to the NJCAA Coaches' Poll. The BlueWave travel to Gainesville, FL on September 11th to compete in the Florida Mountain Dew Cross Country Invitational at the University of Florida. The race is a 4k and will start at 8:30 am.
