Florida State College at Jacksonville BlueWave Cross Country team opened their season Friday night. FSCJ was competing at the Cecil Field Summer Classic on the New World Disc Golf Course at Cecil Field in Jacksonville Florida.

The BlueWave men were led by freshmen John Bear and Sophomore Captain Aldren Biala. The Men's top 5 had a strong showing placing 2^nd, 3^rd, 5^th, 7^th, and 9^th. For the women's team, sophomore captian Emily Perry and freshman Ally Newkirk lead the way. The women's top 5 finished 5^th, 7^th, 8^th, 9^th, and 11^th.

Coach Jody Hale was very impressed with his program, "It was a very strong showing for a first meet. A special shout out to freshman Alec Nixon's 5^th place finish in his 1^st ever cross-country meet. Hannah Shearer's 9^th place finished was her 1^st meet in two years."
