Impressive performance for BlueWave XC at Mountain Dew Gator Invitational

A field of 49 teams competed at the Mountain Dew Gator Invitational at the University of Florida. Season's Best Performances from 5 members of the BlueWave Cross-Country team made for a great day of racing led by freshman Aldren Biala. Aldren covered the rolling 8k course in a season's best 29:42. Nick Hermann back was back racing this week after missing the Embry Riddle meet due to illness to run his best 8k ever in 31:09.  Brandon Russell carved over 3 minutes from his PR last week to run 32:17, followed by Matt Lava (36:08), and Alex Gall (40:17). The men's team finished 13th in the collegiate division.

Leading the women's team again this week, and solidifying her #1 position,  was sophomore Alexis McClung with a season's best time of 21:18. Mackenzie Griffin PR'd for the 2nd time this month, this time chopping 3:06 of off her best ever time to run 25:04. Erika Calle sliced 45 seconds off her best time to run 25:53.

The weekly Winged Foot Award went to Matt Lava for the absolute best kick of the meet with his blistering uphill last 200m finish.
