Men and Women's Cross Country compete at ERAU Asics XC Classic

FSCJ's men and women's cross country competed in the Asics XC Classic last weekend at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

On the most challenging cross-country course in Florida the BlueWave Women's XC team had a strong 8th place team finish. Hills, sand, gravel, dirt, ruts, grass, and concrete this course has it all. The team was led by Bishop Snyder Alumnus Alexis McClung in a time of 23:10 on the very hilly course.  Also scoring for the BlueWave were Emily Perry, Erika Calle, Dkaira Otis, and Mackenzie Griffin.

The men's team was led by Atlantic coast high alumnus freshman Brandon Russell in a time of 35:54 over the hilly 8k course.  Brandon had one of the most exciting finishes of the meet by unleashing a blistering kick to pass 2 runners in the last 100m.

Next week the BlueWave travels to the University of Florida golf course to compete in the Mountain Dew Gator Cross-Country Invitational against a huge field of over 50 college and university teams.
