The Florida State College at Jacksonville's (FSCJ) Men's Basketball team is heading to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Dll National Championship.
After defeating Snead State Community College 72-69 and capturing the NJCAA Dll Gulf South District Championship last Saturday, the FSCJ men's basketball team are now headed to Danville, Illinois. The post season win qualifies FSCJ to compete in the NJCAA Dll National Championship hosted by Danville Area Community College in Danville, IL March 18-23rd.
During the NJCAA Dll National Championship selection show this past Tuesday, FSCJ men's basketball was seeded at #18. The bracket has them facing the #15 seed Howard Community College from Maryland on Monday, March 18th at 4:00 pm. (EST) / 3:00 p.m. (CST). The winner of this first round competition will then advance to will face the #2 team South Suburban College from South Holland, Illinois on March 19th at 8:00 pm. In FSCJ's inaugural season of the move to NJCAA Dll the FSCJ basketball program (25-8) has captured the FCSAA Sun-Lakes Conference Championship, FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Championship, the NJCAA Dll Gulf South District Championship and now this trip marks the first time in FSCJ history the Men's Basketball team will compete for a national title.
