Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball player Tarence Guinyard was selected as the FCSAA Region 8 Player of the Week for DII. This marks Guinyard's fourth such award this season.

Guinyard, a sophomore and second-year starter, is a Tampa, FL native who graduated from Riverside High School here in Jacksonville in 2022. He earned All-Central Conference First Team for FSCJ last season and has improved in virtually every statistical category this season. He is one of two returners to the FSCJ men's basketball program this season. The FSCJ men's basketball team has a record of 21-7 overall. Guinyard's performances have continued to guide the men to a 8-2 record in Region VIII conference play.

Averaging 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 steals per game last week, Guinyard led FSCJ to two conference victories over Florida Gateway College at home Wednesday and a road win at Pasco Hernando State Saturday.
