Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball team hosted Florida Gateway College.
It was a slow start for the BlueWave men's team as Florida Gateway made a run for the finish line early. FSCJ was able to regroup and get things rolling to counter shot for shot with the Timber Wolves of Florida Gateway College. With a one point edge, Florida Gateway pulled ahead of the BlueWave going into the locker room 30-29.
The second half was a continuation of action-packed play between the two teams. A back and forth, bucket for bucket game resulted in the BlueWave forging ahead in the second half outscoring Florida Gateway 32-25. FSCJ's second half defensive efforts were just enough to hold off Florida Gateway and pull away with the 61-55 victory.
This win gives the BlueWave their fourth win in a row. FSCJ was led by Johnny Brown with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Eddie Davis added an additional 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Sam Jackson gave FSCJ a solid 9 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.
FSCJ must finish the last three conference games strong to determine post-season seedings. The BlueWave men return to action against College of Central Florida after the women's game this Saturday at 4:00pm.
