Men's Basketball off to slow season start after opening season on the road

The Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball team started the season with two challenging opponents on their opening weekend.

The BlueWave took to the road for the start of their 2019-2020 season. The first game found them traveling to Niceville, FL to face Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC).  After ending the first half down 17-34, FSCJ rallied together to end the game with a 56-66 loss. Evan Busby led FSCJ in scoring with 14 points. Busby had an exceptional free-throw shooting night, going 11-12 from the line.  Johnny Brown nearly had a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

FSCJ's second game had the BlueWave back on the road to Tallahassee Community College (TCC) in Tallahassee, FL.  After the tough loss against NWFSC, FSCJ would now have to play another tough opponent on their home court. The BlueWave were led in scoring by Johnny Brown, who had a double-double and led all players with 22 points and 13 rebounds.  FSCJ had 3 other players scoring in double figures; Ja'Derryus Eatmon with 12 points, Evan Busby with 10 points, and Jordan Mitchell with 10 points. The BlueWave played hard and faced a lot of adversity in their first two games of the season.

The FSCJ men's basketball team will play host to the Red Devils Academy on Saturday November 9th at 4:00 p.m.
