
Masto Drives Home the Road Win for FSCJ Baseball
The FSCJ Manta Rays defeated Daytona State College 8-6 in a closely contested game. The Manta Rays opened scoring in the first inning, with Billy Girgis and Dominic Masto contributing key plays to establish an early lead. Daytona State tied the game in the second inning, thanks to Schincariol's home run, but a solo home run by Jack Newman put the Manta Rays ahead again in the third. The game saw multiple ties and lead changes, with Masto's clutch sixth-inning single scoring two runs, ultimately securing the victory for FSCJ.
Pitching contributions were significant for the Manta Rays, with Cayden Robinson earning the win after three innings of solid work, while Gant Geiger started the game and managed five strikeouts. Daytona State's Lebenson also pitched well early, but the Manta Rays'offense overwhelmed the opposition, tallying 15 hits and four stolen bases. Masto led the team with three RBIs, while Isaac Newman recorded four hits. Defensively, FSCJ played a flawless game with no errors. The team's patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, and strong overall performance led to a hard-fought victory.
