Pasco-Hernando claims two wins from the three game series versus FSCJ

The Florida State College at Jacksonville baseball team traveled to Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) to face the Bobcats in the first of a three-game series. FSCJ would then return home in conference action to host the final two games of the series. 

Pasco-Hernando 8, FSCJ 12

In game one, the FSCJ BlueWave couldn't keep up with Pasco-Hernando State College and fell 8-2 on Thursday.

PHSC would get on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Anthony Cole homered to left field, Aidan Corn singled, Eddiel Tolentino singled, and Bryce Habuda walked, each scoring one run.

Michael Savarese earned the win for Pasco-Hernando State College. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking three. Cayden Robinson took the loss for FSCJ Blue Wave. They went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.

Billy Girgis, FSCJ's number nine hitter, led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Braden Kessel collected two hits for the BlueWave in four at bats. Kessel stole two bases.

Pasco-Hernando State College tallied 13 hits in the game. Corn went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead Pasco-Hernando State College in hits.

Tolentino and Corn were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Pasco-Hernando State College. Luke Dickerson, Cole, and Dariel Castillo each collected multiple hits for Pasco-Hernando State College. Corn stole three bases. Pasco-Hernando State College ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Pasco-Hernando State College turned one double play in the game.

 

FSCJ 4, Pasco-Hernando 0

FSCJ baseball ousted Pasco-Hernando State College 4-0 in Friday morning match-up.

FSCJ would jump on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the fourth inning after Carson Womer grounded out, and Aidan Hampton singled, each scoring one run.

Brady Ellison earned the win for FSCJ. They surrendered four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Chris Arroyo took the loss for Pasco-Hernando State College. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking none.

Braden Kessel and Matt Retamoza each collected two hits for the BlueWave.

Womer, Sean Esquinaldo, Dylan Greene, and Hampton each drove in one run for FSCJ and turned one double play in the game.

Anthony Cole, the Bobcats number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Pasco-Hernando turned one double play in the game and didn't commit a single error in the field. Eddiel Tolentino had the most chances in the field with eight.

 

Pasco-Hernando 5, FSCJ 1

The final of three games found FSCJ falling to Pasco-Hernando State College 5-1 on Friday afternoon.

The Bobcats jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Aidan Corn doubled, scoring two runs, and Corn scored after tagging up. PHSC scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Jake D'Altrui on a 3-0 count.

Gabriel Garcia earned the win for Pasco-Hernando. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Jaden Paradoa took the loss for FSCJ. The left-handed pitcher went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out six and walking none.

Isaac Newman led the BlueWave with one hit in three at bats and Braden Kessel had one run batted in. FSCJ turned three double plays in the game.

D'Altrui and Chris Arroyo were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Pasco-Hernando State College. Corn provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Pasco-Hernando State College with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Pasco-Hernando State College turned two double plays in the game.

FSCJ will hit the road and travel to Palm Beach State College for a three game Sun-Lakes Conference series starting next Friday.
