Seminole takes down FSCJ

Seminole takes down FSCJ

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - FSCJ met Seminole State on Wednesday for the lone meeting in 2023 between the two schools. Early free passes proved too much to overcome as Seminole won 11-1 in 7 innings of play.

Seminole State 11, FSCJ 1

Crooked numbers in the first and second for the visiting Raiders would be all they would need as they coasted into an 11-1 victory at Howard Roey Field. SSC would put up 4 in the first and 5 in the second to take a commanding 9-0 lead. That would swell to 10-0 in the third and 11-0 in the fifth before FSCJ plated their lone run on a JC Medina RBI groundout that scored Mac Wilkins. The teams traded zeroes in the sixth and seventh innings to get to the final score. Kobe Wiggins was the Blue Wave highlight offensively, going 3 for 3 at the plate. Andrew Veniard (0-2) took the loss for FSCJ, allowing 6 runs in 1+ innings on 2 hits and 5 walks. Jacob Ward provided some stability on the mound, going 4 innings and allowing 3 earned runs on 1 walk, 7 hits, and 4 strikeouts. Connor Nelson and Carson Womer went the final two scoreless innings.
