Miscues doom FSCJ in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - FSCJ fell to Tallahassee Community College 13-4 on Saturday in the state's capital. Miscues throughout the game in all facets doomed the Blue Wave after an early back-and-forth start to the game. The loss takes FSCJ's record to 2-3.

The Blue Wave would take an early 1-0 lead in the contest in the top of the 1st inning as Jack Gidcumb singled home Xavier Cintron, who also singled in the first. TCC would answer with a freebie-aided grand slam in the bottom half to gain a 4-1 advantage. FSCJ would add two more in the 2nd, as Cintron stayed hot by doubling home Dylan Greene and Sam Gordon to make the score 4-3. Tallahassee would then score 7 unanswered runs on a combination of errors, walks, and timely hits, until the top of the 7th inning, where Kobe Wiggins hit a sacrifice fly to score Noah Wood after his first career hit. After some late inning action from the home team, the final score would rest at 13-4. Cintron, Gidcumb, and Greene had multi-hit games. Wood and Carson Womer hit safely as well. Colby Lipovsky (0-1) took the loss for FSCJ, going 2.2 innings and allowing 7 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3. Dylan Peck, Jacob Ward, and Ethan Wilford would come on in relief to finish the game.
