FSCJ Baseball serves the Jacksonville Beach community
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL. - Several members of the Florida State College at Jacksonville baseball team participated in the Jacksonville Beaches Community Cleanup this past Saturday morning. They aided in the cleanup of Jacksonville Beach by collecting trash and other items discarded on the beach and, in coordination with a multitude of other volunteers, the group collected hundreds of buckets filled with disposable items.
"Our baseball program conducts over a dozen community service activities each year, so when Hurricane Ian passed through it was only natural for our student-athletes to look for ways to lend a hand in the response," said Head Baseball Coach Brad Frick. "Through their time with us at FSCJ, our student-athletes develop a strong bond with our community and I'm glad to see them invest time in order to keep the beaches safe, healthy, and clean for beachgoers while also making it a safer haven for any marine life that calls the beach home."
