Offense and Bullpen Pave the Way for FSCJ in Win Over ABAC

TIFTON, GA. - The Blue Wave offense was rolling on a warm Wednesday afternoon in southern Georgia, as they pounded out 13 runs and 18 hits en route to a 13-6 victory over the ABAC Stallions. The ball was flying early and often, giving FSCJ 7 extra-base hits on the day. That win takes FSCJ to 7-5 overall on the year.

6 Blue Wave starters registered multi-hit days, with Blake Wood leading the way with a 4-for-6 game. Mason McLeod and Evan Wickeri provided 3-for-5 games with a double and homer each, the third homer of the year for Wickeri and first for McLeod. Wickeri finished with 5 RBI while McLeod had 3 RBI. Jayme Villafane tacked on 3 hits, while Barry Eiseman and Garrett Chun had 2 hits apiece. Eiseman collected 2 more doubles to bring his season total to 10, along with 3 RBI of his own. Colby Lipovsky picked up his first collegiate win on the mound (1-3), pitching 5 shutout innings in relief, only allowing 3 hits and striking out 4. Andrew Myers closed out the game for FSCJ with 2.2 shutout innings of his own, giving the Blue Wave bullpen 7.2 innings of shutout relief pitching on the day. 

FSCJ takes on Daytona State College on Friday in a home game at Howard Roey Field. First pitch will be at 1:30.
