FSCJ Falls 4-3 to St. Johns River

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - Florida State College at Jacksonville fell to St. Johns River State College 4-3 Tuesday afternoon in a tight contest at Howard Roey Field to conclude an eight game homestand. The Blue Wave fell behind 4-0 in the 3rd inning, but ultimately could not overcome the early deficit. FSCJ answered with two runs in the 4th inning and another in the 9th, but stranded the tying run on first base to end the game. Tyler Green provided a spark for the Wave, going 2 for 4 on the day, driving in both runs in the 4th and scoring the lone run in the 9th. Hunter Bradshaw also had a two-hit game, singling home Green in the 9th. Colby Lipovsky took the loss for the Wave, allowing four runs in four innings while recording four strikeouts. Andrew Myers, Manny Reyes, and Evan Wickeri combined for 5 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. 

The Blue Wave (5-4) hit the road on Saturday to Douglas, Georgia, to take on South Georgia State College in a 1:00 PM doubleheader.
