FSCJ Rolls Past ABAC 15-3

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - The Florida State College of Jacksonville Blue Wave used an offensive explosion to take down the ABAC Stallions by a score of 15-3 on Friday afternoon at Howard Roey Field. FSCJ scored 5 in the 1st, 1 in the 2nd, and 9 in the 3rd to take a commanding 15-0 lead after three innings. Every player in the starting lineup for the Wave scored at least one run, led by Cam Wademan's three runs scored. 9 different FSCJ batters recorded a hit. Wademan and Mason McLeod had multi-hit games, while Jack Gidcumb tallied 3 RBI. The hero at the plate on the day was third-year sophomore Evan Wickeri, who broke the game open in the 1st inning with his first career grand slam. Wickeri collected 5 RBI on the day in total. Daniel Gaviria earned the win on the mound, lifting his season record to 1-1. Gaviria went 5 shutout innings, only giving up two hits and striking out four.
FSCJ, now 3-3, takes on South Georgia State College on Saturday for a 1:00 PM doubleheader at Roey Field. Brian Veniard and Dylan Dudones will get the ball in Game 1 and Game 2, respectively.
