Late score steals game one away from FSCJ baseball

Florida State College at Jacksonville traveled to Sanford, FL to take on the Raiders of Seminole State College of Florida.

In the first inning, FSCJ sparked their offense when Trey Spratling-Williams homer scored two runs. Seminole's then notched a run at the bottom of the first inning to get on the board. While FSCJ tallied an additional four runs in the second inning when Austin Morton hit a grand slam to bring all runners home. The third inning saw two more runs for the BlueWave as they expanded their lead and Seminole added one more to the board at the bottom the inning to give FSCJ an 8-2 lead. Two more runs scored in the top of the fourth for the BlueWave and the Raiders answered with two of their own. The bottom of the fifth and sixth found the Rainders gaining traction as they crossed the plate a total of three more times to work on closing the 10-7 deficit. In the seventh both teams even out the runs at one a piece, before Seminole's bats rallied in the bottom of the eighth. With the Seminoles late inning coming back and the score tied at 11 the Raiders forced an error that would help to push momentum in their favor to take the win 14-11 late in the game.  

FSCJ  collected ten hits and Seminole State Raiders had 18 in the high-scoring affair.

 

Gabriel Sevillano was on the hill for FSCJ while Weghorst, Drew Herring, and Dillon Richardson each contributed in relief for the BlueWave. FSCJ collected ten hits, smacking two home runs on the day by Spratling-Williams and Morton's grand slam. The BlueWave were active on the bases stealing a total of seven bases on the day.
