BlueWave baseball falls in final play

A walk-off left the BlueWave on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Abrham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) Saturday.

The game was tied at five with ABAC Stallions batting in the bottom of the seventh when Tate Kight singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. FSCJ fell behind by five runs in the fourth inning, but then tried to fight back. The BlueWave scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Logan Nugent in the fifth, a double by Kevin Long in the fifth, and a home run by Alex Luscombe in the sixth.

In the top of the sixth inning, FSCJ Baseball tied things up at five. Luscombe hit a solo homer, Nugent and Long each had RBIs in the frame.Tyler Naumann toed the rubber for FSCJ, he lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out two. Drew Herring, Jose "Gabriel" Sevillano, and Brandon Cruz each contributed in relief.

The BlueWave's Luscombe tallied one home run on the day and the team tallied a total 11 hits. Long, Nugent, and Chad Ragland each had multiple hits for FSCJ. Long led with three hits in three at bats.
