FSCJ announces Couch, Frick as Co-Athletic Directors to lead BlueWave Athletics

Florida State College at Jacksonville announced earlier this month that Diana Couch and Brad Frick, two veteran members of the BlueWave athletic department, will serve as Co-Athletic Directors following the departure of Virginia Alexander.

Diana Couch was promoted to the role after being hired by Florida State College at Jacksonville in August of 2021 as the head women's basketball coach. Couch previously served as the associate athletic director from 2018-2020 for the BlueWave athletic department.

Prior to FSCJ, Couch worked at Indian River State College as the head women's basketball coach while also working in student activities and maintaining the athletic departments website. Couch began her college coaching career at Eastern Florida State College in 1998 before heading to Kansas for 11 years. There Couch spent time at Independence Community College, Neosho County Community College, Newman University and Fort Scott Community College coaching and working in various athletic department administrative roles.

"I'd like to thank the administration for entrusting Coach Frick and I with the future of BlueWave Athletics," said Couch. "We are eager to lead a department of hard-working coaches and student-athletes. The potential for growth within our college and community are limitless and we look forward to building solid relationships "

Brad Frick will be entering his ninth year in the BlueWave athletic department where he has served as the head baseball coach. In 2020, Coach Frick assumed the role of associate athletic director in charge of eligibility and compliance.

Frick came to FSCJ after serving as the assistant baseball coach and director of operations at Florida Atlantic University from 2008-2012. From 2007-2008 he was the assistant baseball coach at Bethune Cookman and began his coaching career at Daytona State College as the assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator in 2004.

"I am extremely grateful and excited for this new chapter at FSCJ," said Frick. "I look forward to working with the coaches and administration in this new endeavor. I am very fortunate to be here at FSCJ and helping to grow the athletic department and partnering with this great community."

Couch and Frick will be sharing athletic director responsibilities while continuing to coach their respective sports.
