Demeritte inks with Coker College to continue basketball career

Florida State College at Jacksonville BlueWave women's basketball player, Valicia Demeritte made her four year commitment official on Wednesday, signing with Coker College.  Coker College is an NCAA Division 2 insitution located in Hartsville, South Carolina and competes in the Southern Atlantic Conference.

A two year student athlete for BlueWave Athletics, Demeritte played in all 29 games, starting 25 averaging 9.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game to earn Second Team All-Conference accolades in the Mid-Florida Conference. Valicia scored in double figures multiple times this past season, including six straight games late in the season that included a season high 25 points against Daytona State College.  

Demeritte was one of two NCAA Division II signees for the BlueWave, joining Joseline Ramos (Lincoln University).  

"We are proud of Valicia's hardwork and efforts as a member of our BlueWave program on the court and in the classroom," said head women's basketball coach David Lowery. "We are excited to see her moving on to compete at the next level at Coker College. Valicia has worked for this opportunity and we look forward to following her as a Cobra. We wish her the best of luck and know she will make BlueWave Nation proud!"
