Slow Start Dooms The BlueWave On The Road at Central Florida

The Florida State College at Jacksonville women's basketball team had a slow start in the opening minutes of play going without a basket for over 3 minutes allowing Central Florida the opportunity to go on a 7-0 run. The BlueWave finally got on the board off a long ball from freshmen Rhykeria Rolland, followed by a lay-up from sophomore Valicia Demeritte. FSCJ's offense struggled to get going and they lost their defensive stride giving Central Florida multiple runs in the first half. Before FSCJ knew it, they were down 26-48 going into the locker room at the half.

The start of the third quarter showed promise as the BlueWave's offense kicked in for a 5-0 run. The third quarter saw the ball start to drop more for FSCJ as freshmen Tykedra Rolland would score low on back to back plays to give the BlueWave some momentum. The third quarter was played much tighter, but still fell in CF's favor 23-22.  The woes would continue again for FSCJ in the final quarter as Central Florida would close the end of game on 10-0 run and pick up a decisive 94-65 Mid-Florida Conference win.

Four players scored in double digits for FSCJ, sophomore Joseline Ramos would lead with 13 points followed by Valicia Demeritte. Freshman twins Rhykeria Rolland would contribute 12 points and sister Tykedra 11.
