BlueWave falter on the road at College of Central Florida Shootout

BlueWave falter on the road at College of Central Florida Shootout

Despite back to back double figure games from Sophomore Joseline Ramos and stellar three-point shooting From Asia Harden, Florida State College of Jacksonville's attempt at recording its first road win of the season fell short at the Colleg of Central Florida Shootout.

On Friday afternoon the BlueWave fell 82-59 to Pensacola State. FSCJ stayed within reach of the Pirates the entire first half. Coming out of the locker room the BlueWave lost momentum and could not recover. The BlueWave were led in scoring in Friday's match-up by guard Joseline Ramos and Asia Harden who each contributed 14 points a piece and freshman Eleighseea Rasmussen added 10 to the efforts.

The BlueWave then faced the Sharks of Miami Dade. FSCJ stayed competitive matching buckets with Dade until going into the locker room down only six, 33-26. Third quarter lull allowed the Sharks to pull away scoring 25 points to FSCJ's 16 extending the margin. Despite FSCJ's fourth quarter dominance the overall gap kept the BlueWave at bay. 77-62  was the final score as FSCJ falls at the hands of Miami Dade. Joseline Ramos was once rose to contribute 20 points to the BlueWave effort.

"Both games were really a tail of two halves", stated first year head coach David Lowery. "We had a lot of success early because we defended well, took care of the ball better, and even on the glass at halftime. In the second half of both games we were dominated on the boards and both teams converted turnovers into points. We have to be more consistent in those two areas in order to pull out wins against good teams on the road."

The BlueWave fall to 0-7 on the season. They will be returning to action next weekend as they travel to Pensacola, FL for a pair games in the Pensacola Classic. The BlueWave will battle host Pensacola State Friday, November 22nd at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 23rd vs Central Georgia Tech at 12:00 p.m.
