Region 8 Championships Brings Big Changes in Top 10

Both the Men's and the Women's performances the the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Cross-Country Championships resulted in exciting changes in the all-time Top 10 Lists.

All-Region 8 runner Brennan Popik's new PR of 27:27 is now only 9 seconds back from John Bear's performance in 2020 of 27:18 which still holds the #1 spot. Adrian Figueroa (28:00.1) now sits only 33 seconds behind Popik in the 3rd position. Luke Williams (28:18) rocketed from 10th place to grab the 4th spot now only 18 seconds behind Figueroa. The 2022 team now owns 4 of the TOP 10 Spots with Popik, Figueroa, Williams, and McKim (28:28.2), more than any other year. The 2022 team's current average time of 28:21.8 ranks as the #1 time in BlueWave XC history.

The BlueWave Women's performance at regionals totally rearranged the All-Time Top 10 List with freshman Zandi Pienaar (21:11) jumping 5 spots to now reside firmly in the 3rd spot. Lynn Winkler (21:52) moved one spot to 6th, Meghan Bonser (21:54) up 3 spots to 7th and Kayleigh McWatters (22:16) up from 10th is now in the 8th position.  The Women's 2022 team of Pienaar, Winkler, Bonser, McWatters, and Mathis now has 4 spots in the Top 10 and an average time of 22:05, and ranks them #1 team in FSCJ BlueWave XC history.
