FSCJ's BlueWave freshmen led the way for FLorida State College at Jacksonville's cross-country team Friday evening. The BlueWave traveled to compete at the Valdosta State University Border Clash against a field of 24 teams.

Ally Newkirk led the women's team to an 8^th place team finish on the sunny, hot and hilly Freedom Park 5,000m course. The overall women's performance helped the combined college teams from the state of Florida retain the Border Clash trophy for another year beating the combined Georgia teams.

John Bear led the men to a 7^th place finish on the 7.25k course.  "A couple of big personal records today," said FSCJ Coach Hale, "from team captain Aldren Biala and Brandon Russell over their performances here last year."
