The BlueWave Volleyball Team qualified for the second year in a row for the NJCAA Region VIII Volleyball Tournament with a win over Hillsborough Community College 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-23). Leading the way for the BlueWave in the match was Sophomore Outside Hitter Nicolette Ramos (Sandalwood HS/Jacksonville, FL) and Freshman Right Side Hitter Maria Mancinelli (Gioroano Bruno/Deruta, Italy) who both had 18 kills each in the match. Freshman Libero Krystal Santiago (Corozal, Puerto Rico / Academia Santa Teresita) led the BlueWave with 27 digs marking the 3rd time this year she is in the 25+ Dig Club for the NJCAA.
The team will play next Friday, November 1st against St. Petersburg College at 10am in the first round of the tournament that is being held at the Bradenton Convention Center. St. Petersburg is ranked #3 in the region and FSCJ #7.
