Jessica Eaton Selected to Lead FSCJ Women's Basketball

After conducting a national search, FSCJ has announced Jessica Eaton as its next Head Women's Basketball Coach. Eaton has been with the program for the past three years, with her first two seasons as a dedicated volunteer followed by a transformative role as assistant coach and interim head coach during the 2023-24 season.

Eaton's roots in Florida basketball run deep. Her coaching career started at Lyman High School in 2008 followed by roles at Hagerty High School and Oviedo High School. She also made her mark on the AAU circuit, coaching with the D.E.B.O. program from 2008 to 2010 and serving as the summer camp director for Winning Ways from 2011 to 2013.

"We are excited to name Coach Eaton the new leader of FSCJ Women's Basketball," Director of Athletics Jerry Thor said. "She brings experience at the college level as well as connections across the state of Florida. As an alum, she has a clear sense of pride in the College, and I look forward to seeing the strong bonds she develops with her team and with members of our community."

Following a hiatus from coaching to prioritize her family and raise her children, she joined the FSCJ Women's Basketball staff in 2021.

"I am ready for the opportunity to step into the role of head women's basketball coach at FSCJ," said Eaton. "With a robust background in player development, recruiting and leadership, I am enthusiastic about embracing this new challenge. My goal is to prepare our athletes to not only excel in the classroom but also to serve our community and achieve their full potential as athletes."

Eaton graduated with honors and earned an Associate of Arts from FSCJ, and she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Florida. She and her husband Shanon have two children, Joy and Asher.
