Women's Basketball serves basketball community

Florida State College at Jacksonville's BlueWave women's basketball team took time from their Christmas break to volunteer at Coach William's GameFace Basketball Camp held at local Raines High School.

Coach Wooten and the BlueWave women's team spent time with the middle school and high school campers sharing words of inspiration and encouragement. The team fielded questions by the campers and also shared their individual experiences, challenges and the rewards of being a student-athlete. The BlueWave women spoke of their positive experiences while at Florida State College at Jacksonville while representing the BlueWave athletic department and their team with pride. The ladies enjoyed engaging with the campers and signing autographs for those in attendance. The team extended invitations to the GameFace campers to come out and support them at their home games.  Coach Williams and the GameFace campers enjoyed themselves and requested that the BlueWave women's basketball team come back and put on a basketball clinic.

BlueWave basketball resumes at home Saturday January 5th with a men's and women's conference double-header against Santa Fe Community College. Games are set for a women's tip off at 2:00pm followed by the men at 4:00pm.
