FSCJ BlueWave Athletics Awards Ceremony honors student-athletes efforts

The FSCJ BlueWave Athletic Department recognized it's student-athletes in their annual awards ceremony held this past Wednesday evening. Student-athletes were recognized for their individual and team success in athletics and in the classroom.

The top two awards presented annually in the athletic department are for the Student-Athlete of the Year for both male and female. This year's Female Student-Athlete of the Year award was presented to sophomore pitcher Caitlyn Berry and the Male Student-Athlete of the Year was presented to sophomore pitcher Dalton Terrell.

Caitlyn Berry, a Jacksonville native who attended First Coast High School, will complete her Associate of Arts degree this spring. Currently undecided on her next college step, she has interest in pursing a higher degree in criminal justice.  Berry has pitched in 60 games over the last two years and was recently named to the 2nd Team All Mid-Florida Conference team this season. In the classroom she currently holds a 3.64 grade point average.

Dalton Terrell, also from Jacksonville, attended Trinity Christian Academy. Terrell who is a right-handed pitcher has already committed to play at University of North Florida next season. He has pitched in over 27 games in the last two years at FSCJ while earning Academic All-American status in his first year.  Terrell has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average every semester thus far at FSCJ and will undoubtedly earn Academic All-American honors again.
