Florida State College at Jacksonville men's basketball player Tarence Guinyard was selected as the FCSAA Region 8 Player of the Week for DII.

Guinyard, a sophomore guard, is one of three FSCJ returning players from last season. His recent performances have aided the men's program to a 4-0 start of the season

Averaging 24 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Guinyard shot 45.2 percent (28-of-62) from the field, 34.4 percent (11-of-32) from three and 90.6 percent (29-of-32) from the free throw line.
