The BlueWave men's basketball team opened the 2018-19 season with an impressive 83-66 win over National Top Sports Institute on Thursday night.

FSCJ freshman Deniro Dumas led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The St. Johns, FL native recorded his first career double-double leading a balance attack for the BlueWave. Freshman David Javorsky contributed 16 points along with the team's lone sophomore Erik Hill chipping in 15 points on 7 of 8 shooting.

The BlueWave led 41-29 at the half and were leading by as many as 25 points with 8:01 to play in the second half.

FSCJ will return to action at home on Saturday, at 4:00 against South Georgia State College.
